The staff at Student Health Services would like to welcome you and your incoming Ragin' Cajun to our beautiful campus community! At UL Lafayette Student Health Services (SHS) we are committed to helping your son or daughter remain healthy. Our flyer, which is distributed to all incoming freshmen at orientation, presents an outline of what we offer. Please encourage your son or daughter to take advantage of our services.

The transition into college can be a difficult one. Young men and women are faced with many daunting changes and choices when they enter college. An important part of our role as a department within an institution of higher learning is our commitment to teaching your child how to independently manage his or her own medical problems. For that reason, and because federal law requires it, if your child is 18 years of age or older all communication regarding visits to our clinic and the care provided in the course of those visits remains confidential. We strongly encourage all of the patients in our care to communicate with concerned family members when appropriate, but please understand that we cannot discuss your adult child's medical condition with you without his or her written consent.

Please know that we have your child's best interests at heart. Many of our staff are parents themselves, and we treat our patients in every way exactly as we would wish our own children to be treated.  You can be confident that we will take good care of your child. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have at (337) 482-1293.
